Reev Safety Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Reev Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 684 446 268) ("Reev", "we", "us", "our") is committed to providing a respectful and safe environment for adults using the Reev dating application and website (the "Services").
This Safety Policy explains Reev's approach to user safety, reporting, enforcement, and child protection. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility and Age Safety
Reev is intended for adults aged 18 years and older.
Users must provide their date of birth during account creation.
Reev relies on information provided by users to determine eligibility and does not conduct identity or age verification beyond this information.
We may review account activity for indicators of inaccurate age information and may request additional confirmation where required by law or to assess a safety concern.
Accounts suspected of being used by individuals under the age of 18 may be reviewed, restricted, suspended, or terminated.
Users who cannot reasonably demonstrate that they meet the minimum age requirement are not permitted to use Reev.
2. Prohibited Behaviour
Users must not use Reev to engage in conduct that is illegal, harmful, or unsafe, including but not limited to:
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threats
- Hate speech or discriminatory conduct
- Sexual exploitation or abuse
- Sexual content involving minors
- Scams, fraud, or impersonation
- Circumventing Reev's safety mechanisms by attempting to solicit or pressure other users to share external contact details outside authorised Reev flows
- Any conduct that places another user at risk
Violations of these rules may result in warnings, temporary restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination of an account.
3. Child Safety and Exploitation
Reev does not permit users under the age of 18 and does not allow the creation, sharing, or solicitation of child sexual abuse material.
Any content or behaviour that reasonably appears to involve the sexual exploitation or abuse of a minor is strictly prohibited.
Reports or indicators of potential child exploitation are taken seriously and reviewed as a priority.
Where appropriate, Reev may temporarily restrict or suspend accounts while a matter is reviewed.
Relevant account information and content may be preserved where required to comply with legal obligations.
Where required by law, Reev may report relevant information to appropriate law enforcement or child protection authorities.
4. Reporting, Blocking, and Unmatching
Reev provides in-app tools that allow users to:
- Report another user
- Block another user
- Unmatch at any time
Reports can be submitted from a user's profile via the in-app menu after a connection or interaction has occurred.
Unmatching and Contact Information
Reev is designed to protect users' personal contact details. Phone numbers and other direct contact information are not shared between users unless both users explicitly agree at the end of the Reev connection flow.
When a user unmatches:
- The connection ends and further communication through Reev is blocked
- The other user cannot initiate further contact without renewed consent
- Chat history and date history may remain visible, but no new messages can be sent
A Second Chance request (where available) may only be initiated once after an unmatch and requires the other user's explicit acceptance. Second Chance is not available where a connection ended due to a safety report, block, or enforcement action.
Reev cannot control information that users voluntarily share outside the Services. If a user chooses to share personal contact details independently of Reev, they do so at their own discretion.
5. Review and Enforcement
All user reports are reviewed by Reev's internal team on a case-by-case basis.
Reev does not proactively monitor all user activity and reviews reports as resources reasonably permit.
Actions may include warnings, temporary restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination of an account.
Account restrictions or suspensions may be applied as a precautionary safety measure and do not imply a determination of wrongdoing.
Reev may take enforcement action without prior notice where necessary to protect user safety or comply with law.
Reev does not guarantee specific outcomes following a report and does not disclose enforcement actions taken against other users.
6. Law Enforcement and Legal Obligations
Reev may preserve and disclose user information where required by law, court order, subpoena, or regulator request.
Where Reev becomes aware of content or conduct that may involve illegal activity, including child exploitation, Reev may be required to cooperate with Australian law enforcement or regulatory authorities in accordance with applicable Australian law and any other laws that may apply to Reev's operations.
7. Meeting Offline and Personal Safety
Reev facilitates introductions between users but does not supervise or control interactions that occur outside the Services.
When arranging in-person meetings, users are responsible for their own safety and are encouraged to meet in public places, inform a trusted person of their plans, and end interactions that feel unsafe.
Reev does not provide emergency services or real-time monitoring and is not responsible for the conduct of users outside the Services.
